Little Sok
Some of you might have seen me post some recent status' for prayer requests for a little boy named Sok. Here is the latest update from The Hard Places Community about his condition.
"After weeks of trying to locate surgeons who could operate on Sok's heart, we were led to www.babyheart.org. It's a great organization that is saving the lives of children all over the world. The head doctor there said that he could perform Sok's surgery, but that the facilities in Cambodia were not equipped to handle such a complex operation, so we would have to fly Sok to another country where we would meet the cardiology team from Babyheart. We began the long and tedious task of getting the necessary paperwork for Sok's passport, and thanks to Steph and Borey, the paperwork was completed for us to apply for passports.
However, Sok was admitted to ICU at Royal Ratanak Hospital three nights ago in critical condition. After much consultation with his doctor, we know that Sok would not be able to make a flight out of country. There is nothing left for the doctors to do. Tomorrow morning Sok and his dad will move into our Team House, where we will make Sok as comfortable as possible until he finds the great peace that surely awaits him on the other side.
Our team is in mourning, but at peace. Tonight I helped Sok make ramps out of a cardboard box, and for a few precious moments, we raced matchbox cars down them into his hospital bed as he squealed in delight! Some of you sent money for me to buy these little cars, play dough, and a plastic dinosaur that he loves. He still has a lot of laughter in him to be this sick!
These updates will aim to focus on the joy that is Li Sok, as we celebrate his life with you. Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for walking through this with us. We know we are not alone, and neither is Sok."

The Team House that Sok will be staying at is the intern house we are living in. Sok will most likely pass away withinin the next few days or weeks here. This is going to be very emotionally difficult and draining. I knew who Sok was, but his situation just became very personal. Sok is so precious and is filled with an incredible amount of joy despite all of the hardships he has had to go through in his life. Prayers for little Sok would be greatly appreciated. We want to give him an amazing life, even if it is short. We are still praying for a miracle, we believe that God can heal him, but God also may have different plans for his life. God is sovereign and is good so we will trust and lean on Him in this difficult time.
